First Day Back!
Welcome back parents and students! It was great to see everyone again. I have a lot of repeat students which is flattering to me. I take it to mean that they enjoy my class. Either that, or they’re the bunch that for whatever reason are not that into sculpture or printmaking. I prefer to take the first option. We got reaquainted to one another by working on a project that focuses on their names.
The lesson was taken from pinterest, and I can’t find the link, otherwise I would absolutely post it. The idea was to create patterns that fill in the shapes made by the letters of their names. They used sharpies for the letters and designs, and they used watercolor paint to fill things in. The project worked nicely over two classes.

This is an awesome Teen-led art program hosted by Fleisher Art Memorial, the non-profit I work for.

Spin art on the last day of classes. We had a broken fan at home, so I attached some cardboard to it and it worked pretty well. It was a hit!
